OpenAI has extended its budget-friendly ChatGPT Go subscription to Indonesia after first introducing it in India. The plan, priced at Rp75,000 ($4.50) per month, offers an affordable alternative to the free tier and the $20-per-month ChatGPT Plus plan.
Positioned as a mid-tier option, ChatGPT Go provides users with 10 times the usage limits of the free plan for prompts, image generation, and file uploads. It also improves memory of past conversations, enabling more personalized interactions, according to ChatGPT head Nick Turley, who noted that paid subscriptions more than doubled following the plan’s debut in India.
The rollout also ramps up competition with Google, which recently launched its AI Plus subscription in Indonesia at a similar price point. Google’s package includes access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro chatbot, creative tools for images and video like Flow, Whisk, and Veo 3 Fast, as well as upgrades to NotebookLM and AI integrations across Gmail, Docs, and Sheets, alongside 200GB of cloud storage.
