Apple is reportedly developing its own ChatGPT-style technology, as shared by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The tech giant has set up a new team — known internally as “Answers, Knowledge, and Information” — tasked with building an AI-powered “answer engine” that can pull information from across the internet to respond to user questions.
This new system could either become a dedicated app or be integrated into Apple’s existing platforms like Siri, Safari, and others to enhance search functionality. Apple is also recruiting talent for this project, with job listings specifically targeting professionals experienced in search algorithms and engine development.
Although Apple has already brought ChatGPT into Siri, its plan to launch a more tailored, AI-enhanced version of the voice assistant has faced multiple delays. Additionally, the company may be forced to revise its longstanding search partnership with Google following the latter’s recent antitrust ruling.
