TikTok is making it even easier for music lovers to keep track of the songs they discover on the platform. The short-form video app has now added YouTube Music as a new option in its growing list of music streaming integrations.
Originally launched in the U.S. and U.K. back in November 2023, the “Add to Music App” feature allowed users to save songs directly to Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. By February 2024, TikTok expanded this functionality to over 160 countries, with additional support for Deezer and SoundCloud added along the way.
Now, users can simply tap the “Add Song” button located below a video’s description—next to the track name—and choose YouTube Music as their destination. Once selected, that song will be saved directly to the user’s TikTok Songs playlist on YouTube Music.
Users also have the flexibility to choose their preferred streaming platform as the default or update it anytime through the “Music” settings menu.
According to Tracy Gardner, TikTok’s Global Head of Music Business Development, this feature is more than just a convenience—it’s making a real impact. “Add to Music App continues to deliver real results for the music industry,” Gardner said, “with hundreds of millions of track saves translating into billions of streams on music streaming services.”
With this latest update, TikTok continues to bridge the gap between music discovery and streaming, turning viral sounds into lasting playlists.
