The race to embed Gen AI into the heart of enterprise operations just got a major boost — and Asia is at the center of it. NTT Data has officially teamed up with OpenAI, becoming the first authorised distributor of ChatGPT Enterprise in Japan. And trust us, this partnership is bigger than just a shiny title.
While businesses across Asia have shown serious excitement about Gen AI, real-world adoption hasn’t been so smooth. Between data security worries, integration headaches, and the sheer shortage of AI-savvy talent, a lot of companies have found themselves stuck at the starting line.
That’s exactly where NTT Data steps in. With its deep roots in system integration and OpenAI’s trailblazing tech, this partnership promises to do what few have achieved so far: turn AI potential into business reality.
To kick things off, NTT Data plans to roll out OpenAI’s Acceleration Program to 100 top Japanese companies, helping them not just “try” Gen AI but actually build tailored use cases that make a real business impact.
But they’re not stopping there. Together, NTT Data and OpenAI will develop specialised AI agents across industries like finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and public services. These won’t just be fancy chatbots — think of them as smart co-workers who can take on complex tasks based on real-world expertise.
And to back it all up? NTT Data is launching a dedicated OpenAI Center of Excellence, staffed by tens of thousands of AI specialists ready to guide companies through every twist and turn of their Gen AI journey.
As NTT Data’s President and CEO, Yutaka Sasaki puts it: “Gen AI has the potential to fundamentally transform corporate activities — and we’re here to make that transformation a reality.”
It’s clear: This isn’t just about making AI accessible — it’s about redefining how enterprises operate at every level, starting today.
